"That's how it is with people. Nobody cares how it works as long as it works."
This is a line from The Matrix Reloaded. To me it illustrates well one of the major problems with people and society in general. They get most their knowledge from the mainstream media and TV. Most people don't like learning about the way things work. They don't have curious minds. We are at a point in human history where technology is entering the 'Technoshamanism' era. (The word means: science and tech so advanced that it's indistinguishable from magik). This same apathetic attitude reflects in other aspects of their lives.
Here is a line of my own: "Shallow is the word when it comes to most human minds"
To finish here is another song from the mind of the great Neil Peart, the drummer of Rush. The video is below the lyrics. (Don't forget to visit the related topics at the bottom of this post)
Sprawling on the fringes of the city In geometric order An insulated border In between the bright lights And the far unlit unknown
Growing up it all seems so one-sided Opinions all provided The future pre-decided Detached and subdivided In the mass production zone Nowhere is the dreamer or the misfit so alone
Chorus (Subdivisions) In the high school halls In the shopping malls Conform or be cast out (Subdivisions) In the basement bars In the backs of cars Be cool or be cast out Any escape might help disprove the unattractive truth But the suburbs have no charms to soothe the restless dreams of youth
Drawn like moths we drift into the city The timeless old attraction Cruising for the action Lit up like a firefly Just to feel the living night
Well some will sell their dreams for small desires Or lose the race to rats Get caught in ticking traps And start to dream of somewhere To relax their restless flight Somewhere out of a memory of lighted streets on quiet nights...
