many of you may already know of my jehovah witness background, for those of you who don't, yes I am officialy a JW but I'm open minded. the following thought just popped into my mind again a little while ago.
According to the Jehovah Witness teachings "the anti-christ" is NOT one person, it is any person who rejects christ as the one and only savior. They believe this because the apostole who wrote about the antichrist (either peter or paul, dont remember right now, if i do later i'll add it)) said that the antichrist was already present in the world at that time and he (the writer) was refering to the people who learned about christ at that time but later abandoned that faith. They were labeled "the antichrist" collectively. Just read it in the Bible. But...
---- <----adding little dashes to make the reading easier to follow
I've often wondered if the term "anti-christ" has double meaning. Maybe there is another way of looking at it and here is why: Another teaching of the JWs is that we needed Christ's sacrifice as a ransom for our salvation. John 3:16. they teach that it is impossible for any man to be perfect so no one can save him/her self via their own merit, actions and behavior because we are basically too dumb ("imperfect") to improve ourselves.
---------3 Another thing they teach is that the whole conflict between God and Satan (which means "opposer" or accuser)) is that Satan has accused God of basically maintaining humans (adam and eve) in ignorance so that he can govern them (rule over us), God that is). satan says that we are capable of governing ourselves, that we are smart enough. They teach (the JWs) that God has allowed all this time to pass since Adam and Eve to prove that man cannot fix the world by himself because basically we are too stupid. So then only the people who believe in Christ his son and accept him as their ruler will be saved and the rest will be destroyed in armageddon.
---4 So maybe the anti-christ is one man who satan nurtures with wisdom. one man that will teach the rest of humans how to better themselves so that we can fix the world. In effect one man that will cancel the need for Christ's sacrifice, an "anti-christ" of which Neo in the Matrix is analogous of. For those of you who don't know, The Matrix trilogy is a metaphor about the Bible's story and many have said that Neo represents the anti-christ.
I've often wondered how it must feel to be smart enough to be perfect...
wow! well I don't know about perfect but you definitely seem pretty smart already. That's some deep ****. pardon my language. I thought Jehovah witnesses were ignorant. also, what is WUP forums?
